John McCain said several times during last night’s debate that Barack Obama simply doesn’t understand many of the subjects at the heart of the presidential race. It was quite clear that McCain was trying to paint Obama as naive and risky and he hammered that theme — Obama “doesn’t understand” — again and again through the 90-minute affair.

After the debate, Linda Douglass took great offense on Obama’s behalf, calling the language “insulting.” Then she used it to describe McCain. Here is the exchange with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow.

Rachel Maddow: “We’ve heard a phrase repeated ad nauseum tonight from Senatot McCain – Senator Obama didn’t understand, that he didn’t grasp the issues. What’s the rejoinder to that from the Obama side?”Linda Douglass: “I would say that Senator McCain doesn’t get it. He’s demonstrated in every way that he’s completely out of touch. He’s somebody who’s giving tax cuts to the wealthy when it’s the middle class who needs tax cuts. He is somebody who doesn’t understand that Americans need to be free of their dependence on foreign oil – he’s talking about just drill, baby, drill. He’s demonstrated that in so many ways. He thought the fundamentals of the economy were strong. Just last week he thought the fundamentals of the economy were strong. So, he doesn’t get it. That’s what he has demonstrated. He’s out of touch. And when you try to use sort of insulting language as he did tonight it doesn’t really appeal to voters who are looking for a positive solution to their own lives and the struggles that they’re going through.”

Got that? The Obama campaign can say that John McCain “doesn’t get it” but McCain’s language is “insulting” when he says that Obama doesn’t understand.

Douglass will not find herself in any trouble with her boss on these kinds of attacks because he said the same thing in his acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention. “It’s not because John McCain doesn’t care. It’s because John McCain doesn’t get it.”

Perhaps the Obama-Biden campaign would be better off accusing McCain of plagiarizing their rhetoric. Then again, maybe not.

Is Alcee Hastings on Drugs?

admin on September 25th, 2008

ABC News’ Teddy Davis Reports:

Florida Democratic Congressman Alcee Hastings pointed to Sarah Palin on Wednesday to rally Jews to Obama.

“If Sarah Palin isn’t enough of a reason for you to get over whatever your problem is with Barack Obama, then you damn well had better pay attention,” said Hastings. “Anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks. So, you just think this through.”

Hastings, who is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, made his comments in Washington, D.C., while participating in a panel discussion sponsored by the National Jewish Democratic Council.

Asked what the congressman meant, Hastings spokesman David Goldenberg told ABC News that he was trying to argue that Palin is an “extremely conservative woman who is out of touch with mainstream America.”

After saying that Palin “don’t care too much” about Jews and blacks, Hastings argued that African Americans and Jews should come together behind Obama because there are many issues on which they agree.

“Just like Jews, blacks care about affordable health care, energy independence, and the separation of church and state,” said Hastings. “And just like blacks, Jews care about equal pay for equal work, investment in alternative energy, and a woman’s right to choose.”

Asked about the Hastings criticism, Palin spokeswoman Maria Comella said, “We’re taking a pass.”

The Florida GOP responded to Wednesday’s panel discussion by calling on Obama to repudiate Hastings.

“Unless Senator Obama and the Florida Democrat Party believes that ‘anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks,’ both Obama and the FDP should immediately refute this ridiculous and divisive statement.”

When contacted by ABC News on Thursday afternoon, the Obama campaign had no response to the Florida GOP.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A federal judge has thrown out a lawsuit seeking to remove John McCain from the California ballot because he was born in the Panama Canal Zone.

U.S. District Judge William Alsup ruled late Tuesday that the law at the time of McCain’s birth automatically granted citizenship to offspring of U.S. citizens.

McCain’s parents were both citizens when McCain was born Aug. 29, 1936, in the Panama Canal Zone, a U.S. territory where his father was stationed with the U.S. Navy.

Alsup said Congress passed a law the following year specifically to “remove any doubt as to persons in Sen. McCain’s circumstances in the Canal Zone,” thus “retroactively rendering Sen. McCain a natural born citizen, if he was not one already.”

The Constitution requires that only “natural born” citizens hold the presidency, a term on which the Founding Fathers did not elaborate.

The judge also said the plaintiff, Markham Robinson, chairman of the American Independent Party, had no standing to file the lawsuit because he is not a candidate for president.

McCain said last February that the issue was put to rest 44 years ago when Republican Barry Goldwater sought the presidency. Goldwater was born in Arizona when it was a territory.

Now if we can only get the courts to look into the Obama citizenship charges – but will they?

If Obama wins and is later removed because he is not a citizen, then Biden will become president.

Nancy Pelosi will then become VP…

Hillary would then be set up to be speaker of the house!

Look out USA!!!!

Why does it matter?

Why does it matter if Obama slipped and mentioned his Muslim faith?

Why?  Because for a long time he has denied being Muslim.  For a long time he has claimed he was Christian.

This is quite a slip of the tongue.  I find it quite difficult that someone os his professed stature could make such a slip.  Slip up on many other issues, but your faith?  Or maybe it was not a slip?

Just last week the DNC and Obama were served with legal papers that stated that he was not a citizen.  The claim stated that we have no authoritative records to prove his citizenship, only his word.  His word?

How can we trust a man who “slips” when mentioning his faith?  How can we trust a man who has alegiances with known American born terrorists? How can we trust a man who claims he sat in church for 20 years and never heard his pastor make racist remarks or talk about how bad America is?  How can we trust a man who receives campaign contributions from Middle East terrorist nations, claims he sent the money back but they deny it?

How can we trust this man?

The reality is, Mr. Barack Hussein Obama is swindling America.  The Democrats have decided that thi sman of unknown origin is the new messiah.  In almost like a new cult, his followers flock around this man who can speak well, looks good in a suit and stands for change – but what change?  They are blinded by the theatrics, they are swayed by false truths and are leading America into disaster without knowing it.

The Democrats want the White House so badly, they would have nominated Satan himself if they could have – and maybe they have!

Check out The Toungue Slips!

Hear it for yoruself and then ask yourself if this is a “normal” slip of the tongue.

Obama, DNC Served Yesterday Afternoon

Illinois Sen. Barack Obama was served with papers yesterday connected with the lawsuit filed more than two weeks ago in federal court in Philadelphia questioning his constitutional eligibility for the American presidency. Service was made at his Washington, D.C. Senate office at approximately 1:00 p.m.

From a press release provided by filing attorney Philip Berg and available on his Web site:

Philip J. Berg, Esquire, the Attorney who filed suit against Barack H. Obama challenging Senator Obama’s eligibility to serve as President of the United States, has received confirmation from his Process Service Company that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Senator Barack Obama were served today, September 4, 2008, with the legal documents pertaining to Berg vs. Obama, Civil Action No. 08-cv-4083. The DNC was served at 12:00 p.m. and Senator Obama was served at 1:00 p.m. The U.S. Attorney’s Office accepted service on behalf of the Federal Elections Committee (FEC) on or about August 22, 2008.

A telephone call to Obama’s Senate office in Washington, D.C. yielded no official comment, as his staffer maintained that she was “not familiar with any legal action” and, even though I mentioned that service was made in D.C. to that office, it was “probably a campaign-related issue.”

The subsequent call to the senator’s campaign headquarters, however, yielded the same result but in a more entertaining fashion.

“That’s very interesting,” said a campaign official who declined to provide a name and admitted that this was the first he had heard of Berg’s lawsuit. He asked whether anything about the civil action had appeared in the newspapers, and when told that the story had appeared in the Washington Times, he laughed.

“Has the story appeared in the New York Times? How about the Washington Post? Or the Los Angeles Times? The Chicago Tribune?” he asked. “Those are all more trustworthy papers than the Washington Times. When the story appears there, then we might have something to say about it.”

“If Sen. Obama were ineligible to run for president,” he said, “I think we would have heard about it by now.”

Berg, over the phone, mentioned that he has received phone calls and advice from dozens of lawyers across the country, and was currently working on preparing a motion for expedited discovery to be filed before the next conference with Judge Surrick. While he was unable to provide a copy of the affidavit of service–as soon as I get a copy, it will be posted here–he was more than happy to offer his perspective on the predictable response I received from Obama’s senate office and campaign headquarters.

“They know about it,” he said, noting that the story has catapulted across the Internet and radiowaves, citing 7.9 million hits on his Web site and mentioning that he is booked for a pair of radio interviews this evening, and will be sitting with a newspaper photographer for another story to appear in the [Norristown, PA] Times-Herald. “Too many times, a lawsuit can be filed and nobody knows about it. This time, the political people must know for sure.”

“The silence is proving me right,” he said, wondering why no doctor or nurse has come forward to claim the inevitable publicity which would accompany an admission that they were in attendance for the Illinois senator’s birth. “I think it’s an insult to the American public and even more so to his campaign supporters who have worked so hard and donated so much money. All they’re doing is prolonging the agony. If I’m right and they stay quiet, they could sit on it for 60 days, get elected, and the only way out would be impeachment by this do-nothing Congress.”

“What does that do for America?” He asked. “This deserves a comment one way or another.”

Was Obama properly vetted by the DNC???

How can one so unqualified have so many skeletons and still be a nominee?

Why didn’t he tell us he was named Barry Soetoro?

Why has he forged documents by lying about other names, aliases?

Why has Barry hidden he was an Indonesian Citizen too?

Did he have an indonesian Passport?

Was it used in the early 80’s to travel to Pakistan?

Clearly, the seriousness of the charges require a full-blown debate in the mainstream media.

By the time election day rolls around Barry Soetoro will be a household name and McCain/Superwoman will save us from the iron grip of the Dems.Open-mouthed

He may be a citizen but a LYING, TYPICAL POL, ANTI-AMERICAN citizen.

Change America does not need and will soundly reject.

Democratic vice-presidential nominee Joe Biden said earlier this week that he and running mate Barack Obama could pursue criminal charges against the Bush administration if they are elected in November.

Biden’s comments, first reported by ABC news, attracted little notice on a day dominated by the drama surrounding his Republican counterpart, Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

But his statements represent the Democrats’ strongest vow so far this year to investigate alleged misdeeds committed during the Bush years.

When asked during a campaign event in Deerfield Beach, Florida, whether he would “pursue the violations that have been made against our Constitution by the present administration”, Biden answered in the affirmative. (video clip below)

“We will not be stopped from pursuing any criminal offence that’s occurred,” he continued, going on to praise congressional committees for the deliberate pace of their inquiries into alleged Bush administration misdeeds.

Members of Congress are “doing the right thing, they’re not making false accusations about anything … they’re collecting data, subpoenaing records, they’re building a file”, Biden said.

“If there has been a basis upon which you can pursue someone for a criminal violation, they will be pursued – not out of vengeance, not out of retribution, out of the need to preserve the notion that no one, no attorney general, no president — no one is above the law.”

Obama sounded a similar note in April, vowing that if elected, he would ask his attorney general to initiate a prompt review of Bush-era actions to distinguish between possible “genuine crimes” and “really bad policies”.

“[I]f crimes have been committed, they should be investigated,” Obama told the Philadelphia Daily News. “You’re also right that I would not want my first term consumed by what was perceived on the part of Republicans as a partisan witch hunt, because I think we’ve got too many problems we’ve got to solve.”

When asked about his comments by Fox news today, Biden said he has no evidence that criminal charges would be warranted and no intention of pursuing action against the current president.

“What is true is the United States Congress is trying to preserve records on questions that relate to whether or not the law has been violated by anyone,” Biden said, adding: “But, you know, there’s been an awful lot of unsavoury stuff that’s gone on. And the mere fact … that it occurred in a previous administration doesn’t mean [a subsequent] Justice Department, if, in fact, there’s evidence, shouldn’t pursue them. “But I have no evidence of any of that. No one’s talking about pursuing President Bush criminally.”

Congressional Democrats have issued a flurry of subpoenas this year to senior Bush administration aides as part of a broad inquiry into the authorisation of torturous interrogation tactics used at the Guantanamo Bay prison camp.

Three Bush White House veterans have been held in criminal contempt of congressional committees for refusing to respond to subpoenas in an inquiry on the firing of federal prosecutors: former counsel Harriet Miers, former political adviser Karl Rove, and current chief of staff Josh Bolten. The battle over Miers’s and Bolten’s testimony is currently before a federal court.
